ACNE
Acne is caused by a build-up of dead skin cells, bacteria and dried sebum clogging the skin's hair follicles. Hair follicles are connected to sebaceous glands. Lumps such as blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, cysts and sometimes even abscesses form on the skin, most commonly on the face, chest, shoulders or back.
Four main factors cause acne:
- Excess sebum production
- Hair follicles clogged with oil and dead skin cells
-Bacteria
- Inflammation
Acne occurs on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders as these areas of the skin have the most sebaceous glands.
